Malotz Arykethen is an excitable, friendly personality who loves to travel and meet new people. He's a a cartographer with an itch for travel. He’s a lover of people and cultures, and believes that each map he makes is nothing short of a love letter to a place he’s visited. He is a meticulous note taker, and seeks to create a magical atlas that will allow people to teleport wherever they need to go.
He was born of noble blood but ran away from home at 16 - he did not care for the lifestyle of a political career and the pressures that he felt were unjustly put upon him by his family. When he turned 18 he returned home simply to let his family know he was alive before he set off on his own again.
Most of his time is spent bouncing between different parties offering navigational services, but since meeting his current group (The Five), he's been doing much more artifact and treasure hunting.
He has wind-based powers/magic and can zip around at striking speeds. His bird, Scout, helps him navigate and chart his maps. His Major Element is Wind and his Minor is Earth (dormant).

Ran Away
Ran away from home in the dead of night, not wanting to get caught by the security of the noble home he grew up in.
After spending a little bit of time in the wilderness not really knowing what he was doing, his mentor, Tatha, found him and trained him up in the ways of survival and cartography.

House Call
Returned home briefly to tell his family he was alive but didn't intend to stay. This blew up into a giant argument between him and his father Aelar Arykethen and they left on extremely bad terms.

Spent some time bouncing around between different parties offering his Cartography and Navigational services, occasionally teaming up with Tatha.

Kurt -Bird folk researcher interested in ancient civilizations and recovering artifacts
Natalie - Teharan mercenary, overall strong gal, primarily security/muscle (Lightning Major Element)
Zak - Lion Shifter, gemstone/artwork specialist who is fairly adept at quickly identifying the value of objects.
Neon - Nova (theropod mount), primarily used as a pack animal, can speak telepathically. Old and wisened.

Malotz traveled to the country of Aiben to research a particularly interesting set of ruins located in Agaras - something to do with a civilization that was adept at manipulating the forces of the inner planes. With a great interest in history, and hopeful he could find some artifacts to satiate his curiosity and maybe earn him some coin, he set off.
While there he was forced to reconcile with his past when he found out his father, Aelar Arykethen, (the Minister of Trade for his country) was taken as a political prisoner, and eventually apologized for running away and completely disregarding his family. Malotz still doesn’t care for politics and makes a point to live off only what money is necessary, but the wounds associated with worrying his family were finally allowed to heal over.
Later on he founded the Arcane Cartographer's Guild with the mission to create an Arcane Atlas that could make magical travel affordable to the common people, instead of a luxury only rich spellcasters could manage.

A Teharan navigator/cartographer, enthusiastic about travel and itching to explore parts of space that have yet to be properly mapped. Likes working analog, but familiar with modern systems out of necessity for work(Flash man who begrudgingly learned Harmony). He’s both a freelancer and a member of the Navigators Alliance. His gear is hilariously old but his workflow is streamlined. Has a mechanical familiar (model number SK007) who he’s named “Scout”.
Was hired by a group of scientists to accompany them on The Merkavah to make sure they got to their destination safely, but decided to stick around with the crew for a bit longer and is now offering some navigational assistance to Riley.
Malotz is aro/ace! It's important to me that he's not drawn anywhere near romantic or sexual themes.
