Met Ikamo and Tikala in Basic Training for the Gyallian Military, where he became fast and very close friends with them. Their time in basic together solidified their friendship and they all became extremely close going forward. Where one went, it was likely at least one of the other two were not very far behind.

Hrad and his two new friends become career soldiers, loyal to their planet and the military's cause. They became a fairly well known trio - Ikamo specializing in stealth, infiltration, and observation, Tikala in tracking, intelligence, and coordination, and Hradrok just plain physical power and intimidation. They were often placed together on deployments for how good of a chemistry they had and how well they worked together.

They spend most of their time protecting their borders, boarding the space ships of uncooperative tresspassers and working as an inital strike force to set up a successful boarding operation for their fellow Gyallian soldiers.

Their friendship remains strong in these early years, even so far as bringing each other to events and family gatherings.

After Ikamo's fateful encoutner with The Hunger, Hradrok dedicated his free time and energy to helping his friend learn to control the new power he had acquired. After expressing his fears of what he could become if he went unchecked, Hradrok promised Ikamo that he wouldn't let him slip too far into The Hunger's power and lose himself in the process.

This promise proved to be extremely difficult to keep, but worthwhile, as interest in Ikamo's newfound power moved through the military ranks, he brought his friends up with him to new and more powerful positions. Hradrok saw new opportunities to grow in his own power while also helping his friend maintain whatever sense of normalcy he could muster.

Tikala eventually became leader of their little unit, with a focus primarily on preventing Sun Cultists from getting ahold of Ikamo and stealing The Hunger away from him. They moved through the military ranks and on special assignments together for anything that either involved Sun Cultists activity, or needed a more delicate touch.

As the years pass, the trio's friendship suffers. Ikamo begins withdraw as his importance becomes tied to The Hunger, causing him to take a more apathetic state of mind as he digs deeper and deeper into the abilities and visions it offers him. Hradrok, concerned that Ikamo is losing himself to The Hunger and what the consequences of that may be, makes it his personal mission to try and keep him under some kind of control. Tikala's ability to lead the team while also watching out for the ticking time bomb that Ikamo is begins to come into question as well, prompting Hradrok to issue a formal challenge and takeover of leadership.

Despite it, they are all still united under one goal - keep the Sun Cultists from maintaining control of The Hunger again. They continue to work together even though their friendship forms into bitter resentment.

During this time, Hradrok does get married and has children, which complicates his decision making process in the future as he thinks about what he wants for his family.
